WaaaghPaca: Update #5

This coming weekend is WaaaghPaca 2014! And man, if I am not excited about everything this tournament entails. Besides flying from the sunny West Coast all the way to the frozen northlands of Wisconsin, I will be playing against some of the most beautifully painted and converted armies in the country which will, in turn, be played by some of the nicest and most sportsmanlike Warhammer generals. It’s like being locked behind closed doors for six months of the year breeds great hobby talent and a general sunny disposition to offset the bleakness of tundra. For those who haven’t attended WaaaghPaca before, these are the rules.

“Rules of da Waaagh”
Army Construction Rules:
  • 2,000 point closed lists.
  • Players must use the most current army books.
  • Chaos Dwarfs only from the Tamurkhan book are allowed.
  • Special Characters are allowed!!!! (This makes for some awesome army designs)
All players are required to bring the following:
  • Rulebook.
  • Army book.
  • FAQ for your army.
  • 5+ printed lists (one for each opponent).
  • Tape measure.
  • Dice, templates, pen, paper and anything else you might need to play the game.
  • Lacking any of the above items may result in an etiquette points deduction.
  • You must bring a Man of Intrigue model for scenario purposes.
Individual Scoring: (100 points available over four (4) categories)
  1. Attendance: 25 points for showing up and playing both days (you'd be surprised but sometimes people don't make it to Sunday after too much partying on Saturday)
  2. Battle: 25 points total, up to 5 points for each game.
  3. Apperance: 25 points total, scored according to the WaaaghPaca Paint Checklist.
  4. Sportsmanship: 25 points total broken down as follows. 1 point for each favorite opponent vote (maximum of 5, duh!); 1 point for donating to the charity raffle; 1 point for participating in the mustache contest; 1 point for participating in the vacation contest (or the Rodge Podge); 1 point for voting for your favorite army; 1 point for voting for your favorite Man of Intrigue model; and 15 Etiquette points that can be lost for bad tournament behavior.

So there you have it, the rules for WaaaghPaca 2014. In the next update, I will be going over the tournament scenarios and my plans to get the bonus points as well as last minute army progress. Now let's see if I can put this last weekend to good use and get everything painted up in time.
