Dicehammer SoCal Age of Sigmar Grand Tournament: Tournament Prep

Next weekend, July 8 & 9, 2017, I will be attending the Dicehammer SoCal Age of Sigmar GT in sunny San Diego, California. This will be my first Age of Sigmar tournament since the game dropped! Can you believe it? My first Age of Sigmar event!

West Coast GT 2016: Army List

As I have been saying for the past several posts, this weekend is the West Coast GT. I am busting out my Ratkin army for the weekend, and though I am still sure that I don't quite know what I am doing (as I only have gotten a few games under my belt), I am sure that this list will be fun to play as (1) it includes all the available rat models that are already painted and (2) included lots of fiery death (assuming I can roll a 4+ at some point throughout the game). This is what I am bringing, take a look and complaint about my choices in the comments if you so desire:

Units:
Blight Horde (225 pts) (Maccwar's Potion of the Caterpillar)
Blight Horde (205 pts)
Shock Troops Horde (250 pts) (Helm of Confidence)
Warriors Regiment (120 pts) (Diadem of Dragon-kind)
Warriors Regiment (120 pts) (Crepognon's Scrying Gem of Zellak)
Clawshots Troop (90 pts)
Clawshots Troop (90 pts)

War Engines:
Artillery (90 pts)
Artillery (90 pts)
Weapon Team (80 pts) (Storm of Lead)
Weapon Team (80 pts) (Storm of Lead)
Weapon Team (80 pts) (Storm of Lead)

Monsters:
Death Engine (210 pts) (Vile Sorcery)
Death Engine (210 pts) (Vile Sorcery)

Individuals:
Warlock (115 pts) (Scarletmaw's Fenulian Amulet)
Warlock (120 pts) (Myrddin's Amulet of the Fire-heart)
Enforcer (65 pts) (Inspiring Talisman)

Total Points: 2240 points

So the premise of this list, if it can be said to have a premise, is to shoot things and then clean up the remnants of my opponent's army with the horde units. The list packs 4 breath weapons, 2 lightning bolt characters, 2 shooting monsters, and 2 pieces of artillery. The hordes pack a punch and have decent Nerve to help them survive at least one round of combat. I know there isn't as much Inspiring in the army as most people like, and I am sure that in the future after having played more games I will be putting more Inspiring into the army. But right now I don't expect to get to far away from my shooting units with that character and I also don't expect to do much moving at all. I am sure the tournament scenarios will change all that, but this is the list I submitted and it's the list I am sticking with. Here's to the weekend!

Kings of War: Army Construction (V.2)

So I have managed to play a game of Kings of War and have a better handle on how certain things play out and certain units function or should function in a game. So with this limited progress on my part, I wanted to update the army lists that I have for my armies. My first attempts at list for my Ratkin, Elves, and Twilight Kin are available here. These lists are designed solely from models that I already have put together and mostly painted so that I don't need to do a single thing to them before I put them on a table. As I continue progressing in this game and find that certain units are better or worse, then I might get around to putting some new things together or changing base sizes etc.

Battle Report: Kings of War - February 28, 2016

So I finally grabbed a little time to play a practice game of Kings of War. My buddy and I sat down on a cold Sunday afternoon to play a short 1000 point game to try and get the basics of the game down. We settled on just using the models that were already sitting around in my display case and play a simple game between the Ratkin and the Kindred Elves.

My buddy played the Kindred Elves and I took control of the Ratkin for the game. These are the quick lists that I put together:

Kindred Elves - 995 Points
Kindred Archers (Horde) (Brew of Keen-Eyeness - +1 to standard ranged attacks) - 295 points
Gladestalkers (Troop) - 130 points
Gladestalkers (Troop) - 130 points
Bolt Thrower (War Machine) - 90 points
Elven Mage (Individual) (Lightning Bolt, Scarletmaw's Fenulian Amulet - +2 to Lightning Bolt) - 145 points
Hunters of the Wild (Regiment) (Brew of Haste - +1 to speed) - 205 points

Ratkin - 1000 Points
Blight (Horde) (Brew of Haste - +1 to speed) - 220 points
Death Engine (Monster) (Vile Sorcery - ranged attack) - 210 points
Blight Lord (Individual) (Bane Chant) - 115 points
Weapon Team (War Engine) (Pierce 1) - 80 points
Warriors (Regiment) - 90 points
Weapon Team (War Engine) (Pierce 1) - 80 points
Warriors (Regiment) (Chant of Hate) - 115 points
Enforcer (Individual) - 45 points
Swarm-Crier (Individual) - 45 points

Note - After we played the game, I realized that the Ratkin list is illegal because there is an additional individual for which there is no base regiment or horde unit. So that 45 points should have been put into another unit (or combined with the Enforcer to grab a new unit of 90 points). Luckily, that sole individual did absolutely nothing in our game but die.

Let's take a look at how our first game went!

Kings of War: Army List Construction

This week I peer into the depths of the Kings of War rulebook to try and understand the interesting, but also frustrating (because you can't just fit in all the cool stuff) rules for army construction. In Kings of War, each game is designed around a specific point value (say 1000 points for beginner and practice games and up to 2000 points for more balanced tournament based games). Armies are designed around units. Each unit in the chosen faction list of which there are several factions in the main rulebook (and another entire book devoted to additional army factions) has a set point cost that correlates to that unit's utility in the game. Units with higher points are generally larger and more powerful while units with smaller points are less powerful or fill smaller. This is no so much different from other war games in terms of army design. You simply add up your chosen units' total points value to make sure that you fall within the maximum points value allowed for the game.

However, in Kings of War, there are additional limitations that restrict what units can be taken. As described in the prior Kings of War articles (see Part 1 and Part 2 here), units come in different pre-set sizes. So rather than filling out a unit at a cost of x points per model and creating a unit of different number of guys based on your own preference, each unit has an assigned points value based on the predetermined size of that unit (say 10 models, 20 models, 40 models, etc.). For example, a unit of Kindred archers comes in either troop units (10 models), regiment units (20 models), or horde units (40) models with a corresponding unit cost (115 points, 150 points, and 250 points, respectively). Thus, when designed your army, you are choosing it based on unit type.

In Kings of War, an army is allowed to include up to 2 Troop units for every Regiment unit in the army. Thus, in order to take any troop formations (smaller units) the army must also include a Regimental sized unit at a ratio of 2:1. Similarly, an army is allowed to include up to 4 Troop units for every Horde unit in the army. So if you want lots of smaller troop units, a player either needs to take multiple regiment units or a large horde unit. Similarly, if you want to take a monster, war engine, or hero, then you also need to take a regiment or horde. For each regiment, a player can take either one war engine, monster, or hero. For each horde (or legion) then a player can take one war engine, one monster, and one hero. So if you want lots of heroes, etc. then you will need to take several hordes and regiments.

I have been looking through my collection of Warhammer armies to see what I could put together and play with immediately to get some practice in. Here are my first run at three different 2000 point lists based solely on what I already have put together and painted. If you have any suggestions or comments wound off in the comments below.

Warhammer U.S. Masters 2016: Army List

The 2016 Warhammer Fantasy U.S. Masters tournament is only a few days away. This year it is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be the last time that 8th Edition is played on a major tournament level.

As I wanted one more time to try and prove that Wood Elves can build decent lists for the 20-0 system, I settled on a high comping Wood Elf list that focuses on reducing the possible number of points that an opponent will be able to get without also suffering major damage in return.

My list is as follows:

West Coast GT 2015: Army List

The West Coast GT is next weekend, and it is using Swedish comp as the comp bracketing system. You can bring any list you want as long as it comps higher than a 6. The kicker, though, is that for your overall comp score they double the score you bring to a maximum of 30. Thus, if you bring a 6 your score towards overall will be a 12 (missing out on 18 points that you will have to make up elsewhere) while if you bring a 15 your score will be a 30 (and you will have to work hard to not give up as many battle points). However, in comparison to true Swedish, the difference between your Swedish scores does not result in bonus victory points in the game. (Why Bill? Why?)

Seeing this system, I decided to go with a list that was higher in comp, but that could also conserve points and get minor wins so that I can eek out small wins but still place decent in the tournament. My list ended up with a solid 14.2 comp, and after playing with it and working it out, I feel that it is a better list than my Master's list. Now I wish I had gone with something more like this, as I think I would have done better over the course of the Masters tournament. This is what I am bringing:

Lords:
Spellweaver [335 pts] (-37 comp) (Level 4, High Magic, Talisman of Preservation, Hex Scroll, Elven Steed)
Glade Lord [267 pts] (-8 comp) (General, Shield, Starfire Shafts, Ogre Blade, Armor of Destiny, Dragonbane Gem, Elven Steed)

Heroes:
Glade Captain [166 pts] (-17 comp) (Battle Standard Bearer, Asrai Spear, Starfire Shafts, Charmed Shield, Opal Amulet, Hail of Doom Arrow, Elven Steed)
Glade Captain [141 pts] (-4 comp) (Starfire Shafts, Sword of Anti-Heroes, Helm of the Hunt, Elven Steed)
Spellsinger [105 pts] (-8 comp) (Level 1, Lore of Metal, Scroll of Shielding, Elven Steed)

Core:
Dryads [198 pts] (-3 comp) (18 models)
Glade Guard [215 pts] (-8 comp) (13 models, musician, standard bearer, Trueflight Arrows)
Glade Guard [215 pts] (-8 comp) (13 models, musician, standard bearer, Hagbane Tips)

Special:
Sisters of the Thorn [253 pts] (-25 comp) (8 models, full command, Lichebone Pennant)
Wild Riders [178 pts] (-9 comp) (6 models, standard bearer, shield)
Wild Riders [178 pts] (-12 comp) (6 models, standard bearer, shield)
Deepwood Scouts [102 pts] (-3 comp) (6 models, Starfire Shafts)

Rare:
Waywatchers [140 pts] (-11 comp) (7 models)

Arrow penalty: (glade lord 1, HoDa 5, glade captain 1, trueflight 13, hagbane 14, scouts 6, waywatchers 14) = 54 no penalty
Fast Cavalry: (glade lord 1, spellweaver 1, bsb 1, captain 1, spell singer 1, sisters 8, wild riders 6, wild riders 6) = 25 (-5 comp penalty) (running comp score: 142)

Total points: 2493
Total Comp: 14.2

Now its time to bring some pain to the West Coast GT!

Waaagh!Paca 2015: Army List

Last week I submitted my army list for Waaagh!Paca 2015 and I can say that I am very pleased with my final decision. This year I am going to play one of the new army lists from the End Times book, the army of the Eternity King. This list allows me to play both my dark elves and wood elves in the same army (and had I any high elves, I would have probably found a way to add them in too). Being able to take models from both the wood elves and dark elves allowed me to increase my overall shooting potential while still having solid magic and close combat phases for most of my games. Here is what I will be bringing to Waupaca, WI later this month:

West Coast Qualifier: Army List

For the West Coast qualifier, I was playing my Wood Elves. Wood Elves are one of my favorite armies, but for years they had problems competing in tournament environments. With the addition of the latest book, however, Wood Elves have gained some serious muscle.

Here is the list I went with, including cost for each unit in Swedish Comp:
  • Spellweaver (General, Level 4, Lore of Heavens, Elven Steed, Feedback Scroll, Talisman of Preservation, Warrior Bane (-31 Swedish Comp))
  • Glade Captain (Battle Standard Bearer, Elven Steed, Hail of Doom Arrow, Dragon Helm, Luckstone, Great Weapon, Starfire Shafts, Shield (-17 Swedish Comp))
  • Spellsinger (Level 2, Lore of Metal, Channeling Staff, Ruby Ring of Ruin (-8 Swedish Comp))
  • Branchwraith (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Branchwraith (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Branchwraith (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Glade Guard (10 models, Trueflight Arrows, Musician) (-7 Swedish Comp)
  • Glade Guard (10 models, Trueflight Arrows, Musician) (-7 Swedish Comp)
  • Glade Guard (10 models, Starfire Shafts, Musician) (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Glade Guard (10 models, Arcane Bodkins, Musician) (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Dryads (12 models) (-2 Swedish Comp)
  • Sisters of the Thorn (8 models, Full Command, Lichbone Pennant) (-25 Swedish Comp)
  • Wild Riders (6 models) (-7 Swedish Comp)
  • Wild Riders (6 models) (-10 Swedish Comp)
  • Great Eagle (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Great Eagle (-5 Swedish Comp)
  • Way Watchers (7 models) (-11 Swedish Comp)
Total Army Points: 2492 pts.
Total Swedish Comp: 14

Wanting to take advantage of all the power the Wood Elf book packs, I went about trying to design a list that maximized my shooting potential while still providing some serious close combat hitting potential backed up by a solid magic base. As Swedish Comp penalizes the Lore of Death and the Lore of Shadow heavily for mounted elf mages, I decided to go with the Lore of Heavens on a Level 4 Spellweaver. My hope here was to get Harmonic Convergence to re-roll “1s” with my archer core, control my opponent’s board movement with Comet of Cassandora, and destroy my opponent’s chaff with Chain Lightning.

I went with a Level 2 of Metal so that I would have something besides the small Way Watcher unit to take on 1+ armor saves. Searing Doom is a great spell to take on Chimeras and other high toughness, multi-wound, decent armor save monsters that comp well in Swedish Comp (like ridden Dragons in particular).

I chose two units of Trueflight Arrows over Hagbane so that I could deal with other shooting units like Skinks, Way Watchers, and Shades, as well as the large number of low toughness skirmishing units that are floating around the game. Anything more than 25 models of Trueflight or Hagbane arrows is a serious composition hit, so to fill out the rest of my archers I took a unit of both Arcane Bodkins and Starfire Shafts to help drop 1+ armor saves and negate regeneration saves on Chimeras and trolls.

The Branchwraiths were a key component to making sure that I had access to The Dwellers Below in games against other elves, and choosing three of them made sure that I would be getting that spell in most of my games. I also liked the aspect of having additional cheap chaff units I could throw in front of the battle line to protect my archers. At only 75 points, these guys are awesome. They can take on most other similarly pointed chaff (especially on the charge) and can force nasty frenzied units into bad overrun positions saving my archer units for another shooting phase.

The rest of the army is fairly self-explanatory. Next time, I’ll go over my three games and show how the army performed.

SAWS 2014: Army List

The annual SAWS tournament held at Great Escape Games in Sacramento, CA is upon us. In fact, when this entry is actually posted, it will be the first day of the tournament. SAWS is a five round, two-day GT that usually has around 60 of the best players in the California/West Coast region.

This year I am playing Dark Elves to get some more practice for Bragging Rights in June. Although my Bragging Rights list is much, much different from this one. This year, do to the crazy composition system, is based on lots of infantry rather than cavalry and is heavily reliant on magic in certain match-ups (I'm playing shadow) and shooting in others. The list is as follows:

Dreadlord (257 pts) (General, HA, SDC, Shield, Sword of Anti Heroes, Dragonhelm, Black Amulet)
Supreme Sorceress (305 pts) (Level 4, Lore of Shadow, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Preservation, The Other Trickster's Shard)
Master (159 pts) (BSB, GW, HA, SDC, Ring of Hotek)
Darkshards (326 pts) (22 models, full command, shields, Banner of Eternal Flame)
Corsairs (320 pts) (25 models, full command, Lichebone Pennant)
Witch Elves (273 pts) (18 models, full command, Razor Standard)
Dark Riders (95 pts) (5 models, musician, shields)
Har Ganeth Executioners (405 pts) (30 models, full command, Banner of Swiftness)
Doomfire Warlocks (150 pts) (6 models)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (70 pts)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (70 pts)
Repeater Bolt Thrower (70 pts)

The premise behind this list is lots of models that put out a ton of attacks that can either push through lightly armored troops (hopefully combined with the withering) or crush armored units in protracted combats (via the executioners or a well-timed six dice mindrazor). I hope to draw out dispel scrolls early by using the withering each turn to recued toughness, thereby letting the shooting units take a large toll on my opponents. This list is more difficult for me to play because it requires me to be careful in how I move so that I don't present flanks to my opponents and it is also a little more susceptible to enemy magic like Final Transmutation and The Dwellers Below, but can handle the current trend of magic missiles and other magic quite well.

I will try for best match-ups in units with executioners going into armor, witches going into lightly armored (or no-armored) monsters and like units, and the corsairs going into other infantry units. My hope is to whittle down the main combat blocks of my opponent to allow my combat troops to really shine.

I only have two vanguarding units (the small Dark Rider unit and the Warlocks) and so will have to be careful about enemy warmachines and shooting. But because I have a Level 4, I am less concerned about sacrificing the warlocks if it means that the enemy no longer has any warmachines. I see a lot of combinations of withering followed by doombolt on turn 1 at the most dangerous warmachine my opponent brings. Hope this list works well, as I haven't had any opportunity to practice with it.

Broadside Bash 2014: Army List

For the Broadside Bash, on April 26-27, 2014, in San Diego, CA, I will be playing 2500 points of Dark Elves. This is what I will be bringing to fight all the other filthy armies at the tournament:

West Coast GT 2014: Army List

For the West Coast GT, on April 12-13, 2014, in Mission Viejo, CA, I will be playing 2500 points of Dark Elves. I am playing a list similar to the one I took to WaaaghPaca in January with just a little bit more craziness and I am hoping I don't run into that many cannons. The first two rounds are based on Swedish Comp scoring, and this army comps a mighty 1.5 due to its awesomeness and monster theme. This is what I will be bringing to fight all the other filthy armies at the tournament:

WaaaghPaca: Update #2

Army Lists are due on the 31st of December. Being slightly more prepared than last year, I submitted my list this morning. This is the lovely Dark Elf filth that I will be taking to WaaghPaca this year:

High Beastmaster (430 pts)
  • General, Manticore with Blind Rage and Iron Hard Skin, Sword of Might, Charmed Shield, Talisman of Preservation, and the Other Trickster's Shard
Master (209 pts)
  • Battle Standard Bearer, Dark Pegasus, Cloak of Twilight, Lance, Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak
Dark Riders (140 pts) (6 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields, Repeater Crossbows)
Dark Riders (120 pts) (5 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields, Repeater Crossbows)
Dark Riders (120 pts) (5 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields, Repeater Crossbows)
Dark Riders (120 pts) (5 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields, Repeater Crossbows)
War Hydra (180 pts) (Fiery Breath)
War Hydra (180 pts) (Fiery Breath)
Kharibdyss (160 pts)
Bloodwrack Medusa (90 pts)
Doomfire Warlocks (125 pts) (5 models)
Doomfire Warlocks (125 pts) (5 models)

This army comes in at a sleek 1999 points and hits both a perfect 500 points in core and a mighty 500 points in rare. I have no actual mages, no Dispel Scroll, only one magical weapon, lots of things that can be killed by a single cannon, and no ranks at all in the entire army. Let's see how this craziness will do.

Alamo GT 2013: Army List

Here is my official army list for the 2013 Alamo GT taking place in San Antonio, Texas. After finding out that I get to use the old Dark Elf army book for one last time, I decided to play something disgusting and ridiculous. I expect to play all the worst army lists at the tournament, including I am sure, several ugly Daemon armies and Empire all cavalry builds. I expect to lose gloriously, drink profusely, mock the attendees indiscriminately, and above all, have a great time. When I get back, don't be expecting any posts about me winning any awards. It's just not going to happen this year with how much of a rock-paper-scissors this list is, and how low I expect to be comped for the first couple rounds. This is the list I devised and turned in to tournament personnel, it is similar to the list I took to Quake this year, but with the changes I wanted to make after losing two games:

Dark Elf Army List (Update #2)

Here is the most recent army list that I am beginning to tinker with:

Lords: (601/625 points)
Dreadlord (291 points)

  • Lance, Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak, Charmed Shield, Cloak of Twilight, Dawnstone, Dark Pegasus
Supreme Sorceress (310 points)
  • Level 4, Lore of Death, Dark Steed, Talisman of Preservation, Dispel Scroll

Heroes: (560/625 points)
Death Hag (290 points)
  • Cry of War, Cauldron of Blood
Master (157 points)
  • Battle Standard Bearer, Ring of Hotek, Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak, Shield
Master (113 points)
  • Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak, Shield, Lance, Dragon Bane Gem, Potion of Foolhardiness, Repeater Crossbow
Core: (745/625 points)
Witch Elves (375 points) (30 models with full command, Banner of Swiftness (+1 movement))
Dark Riders (110 points) (5 models with musician, shields and repeater crossbows)
Dark Riders (110 points) (5 models with musician, shields and repeater crossbows)
Darkshards (150 points) (10 models with musician, standard with Banner of Eternal Flame)

Special: (1244/1250 points)
Executioners (336 points) (28 models with full command)
Shades (108 points) (6 models with great weapons)
Cold One Chariot (115 points)
Cold One Chariot (115 points)
Reaper Bolt Thrower (70 points)
Reaper Bolt Thrower (70 points)
Reaper Bolt Thrower (70 points)
War Hydra (180 points) (Fiery Breath)
War Hydra (180 points) (Fiery Breath)

Rare: (375/625 points)
Bloodwrack Medusa (90 points)
Doomfire Warlocks (125 points)
Kharibdyss (160 points)

Right now with my beginning first list of models that I like, I am well over points (but at least with appropriate ranges). Putting everything I want puts me at over 3500 points so I still need to cull about 1000 points from the list. I don't want to drop the two combat blocks, and because I am taking witches I want to take the Cauldron. I really like the Doomfire Warlocks (and they let me get away with not having a Level 2 mage). I am looking at dropping the core to exactly 625 points and the two chariots which frees up some points. The medusa is good against some armies, broken against others, and useless against others. But it is only 90 points, so who knows? I could easily make up the points by dropping the Dreadlord, but then the Leadership monsters also have to go as none of them are Immune to Psychology and I really like them.

I could switch to a heavy shooting build that drops the witches, but then the executioners will get all the focus. I just need to sit down and test lists to see what works and what doesn't.

Dark Elf Army List (Update #1)

With this progression of posts I will show what I am currently adding to my army list for the Alamo GT at the start of November. Each update will include new units, changes, and reasons why I felt the need to add or drop items, units, etc.

Here are the units that I am currently planning on bringing to the Alamo GT:

Quake City Rumble 2013: My Army List

For this year's Quake City Rumble I am taking Dark Elves! That's right, I said Dark Elves. My list for the tournament is a combination between my desire to out-shoot my opponent and Ben Curry's killing list which I think is a good list against the two armies I expect to see the most: Warriors of Chaos and the new High Elves. My list includes:

Characters:
Dreadlord (287 points)
  • General, Dark Pegasus, Ogre Blade, Charmed Shield, Pendant of Khaeleth, Potion of Foolhardiness, Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak.
Supreme Sorceress (330 points)
  • Level 4, Dark Magic, Lifetaker, Sacrificial Dagger, Opal Amulet
Hag Queen (225 points)
  • Battle Standard Bearer, Cauldron of Blood
Sorceress (160 points)
  • Level 2, Lore of Metal, Dispel Scroll
The purpose behind my characters are pretty straightforward. The Dreadlord kills monsters and Daemon Princes with his four Strength 6 attacks and takes little damage in return. He can also take down knights and Skullcrushers in the flank. The Supreme Sorceress with Dark Magic kills High Elves, period! Dark Magic is amazing: Chill Wind stops the archer hordes; Word of Pain makes them Weapon Skill 1; and Black Horror kills swathes of Core troops (and is not flaming). The Cauldron of Blood is just plain awesome. Finally, the Level 2 of Metal helps kill warriors and knights.

Core:
Repeater Crossbowmen (213 points) (18 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields)
Repeater Crossbowmen (202 points) (17 models, Musician, Standard Bearer, Shields)
Dark Riders (131 points) (5 models, Repeater Crossbows, Musician, Standard Bearer)
Dark Riders (131 points) (5 models, Repeater Crossbows, Musician, Standard Bearer)
Harpies (66 points) (6 models)

All of my core, except for the Harpies, shoots! That is how core should work. It should kill things from a distance and put up a few wounds on large creatures before other things can deal with them. The Harpies are there to go after war machines and act as a chaff screen.

Special:
Black Guard (294 points) (18 models, full command, Banner of Murder)
Witch Elves (55 points) (5 models, Musician)
Witch Elves (55 points) (5 models, Musician)

The Witch Elves act as additional - possibly Stubborn - chaff units that can put out a ton of attacks and can easily whittle through large units of Skavenslaves and other cheap troops. I will use these as re-directors in most of my games and keep them within 12" of the Cauldron so that they will be Stubborn.

Rare:
War Hydra (175 points)
War Hydra (175 points)

I have two Hydras. These models are self explanatory. There is my army. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Now I just have to see how it will work this weekend.

BAO 2013: Overview and Army List

This weekend is the Bay Are Open ("BAO") 2013 Warhammer 40k and Fantasy Grand Tournament. I will be participating in the 2500 pt Fantasy Championships where I hope to defend my second place finish from last year (or maybe even win the event, who knows?).
