Waaagh!Paca 2015: Painting Update #3

Well, Waaagh!Paca 2015 is only a few days away, and after another week of painting at night, I have managed to completely finish two units and the third is very close. I'm hoping to finish it Wednesday night so that I don't have to bring any painting materials to the tournament. Here is how everything is turning out:

Unit #1 is a unit of True Flight archers. The archers have the same fall color scheme as the rest of the army with blue quivers and a blue banner. Dental floss was used to make the bow strings. One of the trees goes with the unit to create a nice unit filler and provide more height and weight to the unit making it seem like more of a presence on the table top.

6 little archers, waiting to sit in a tree.
The unit all ranked up with the tree.
Finished unit from a higher perspective. The tree make the unit really stand out on the table top.
Unit #2 is another unit of archers with Trueflight Arrows. This unit has the same fall color scheme with a darker tree to really bring out the little color pops. I used purple on the banner, quivers, and leaves to differentiate the units.

6 more archers ready to go!
The unit from the front.
This is how the unit looks on the table top.
Unit #3, is a unit of archers with Hagbane Arrows. To show that they had poisoned shots, I wanted their unit filler to look more dead and dripping poisonous mucous that they use on their arrows.

All that is left for the tournament.
The tree is still being worked on, but you can see that it looks like it is growing mold or fungus that I will eventually highlight up to a disgusting color of green and then cover with copious amounts of Nurgle's Rot. Here is the tree in a much more complete, but still not quite ready, paint scheme.

Poison is in the works.
I'm hoping that it will make for some funky fungus.

    1. Thanks Ben, that means a lot. I finished the tree last night and it looks pretty good with the Nurgle's Rot technical paint. It dripped into lots of corners to make it look like it was seeping sap.
